Term of office: § 21. 1 The term of office of the delegates is two years, unless the rules applicable to a committee provide for a different term of office.
The new deputy rule is as follows: § 22. 1 The candidates who have not been elected assume the function of deputy delegates in the order of their number of votes.
Seats for which there are no nominations/delegates remain vacant for the time being. By-elections will be held every semester to fill seats that are/ have become vacant. The next by-elections will take place in HS 2020.
The Board of the University is the university's highest body. It is responsible for strategic decisions and directly supervises the university (University law § 29).
It's headed by the director of education. the education director of the canton of Zurich.
The Senate is the "general assembly" of all professors and the delegates of the bodies. The number of delegates is 3% of the professors per representative body.
The Senate submits an application to the University Council to choose the highest positions at UZH: Rector and Vice-Rector. The Senate can comment on questions of university-wide importance.
The Senate meets at least once a year.
The Extended Executive Board of the University is the highest body in the academic field.
It includes the Executive Board of the University, the deans and the delegates of the bodies. The Executive Board of the University meets around ten times per calendar year (once a month with a short summer break).
The most important tasks of the Extended Executive Board of the University include the adoption of the mission statement of the university, the development and financial plan and the examination of doctoral regulations of the faculties for the attention of the Board of the University.

The main tasks of the Commission include defining strategic library topics and adopting UZH's e-library strategy. The commission meets at least once a year.

Commission of the Extended Executive Board of the University
The Disciplinary Commission is primarily responsible for the exclusion and the revocation of a conditionally deferred exclusion. The disciplinary commission is responsible on the one hand if the wrongdoer does not agree to the termination of the proceedings or the measure imposed by the university lawyer. It is also responsible if the university lawyer makes an application for the conditional or unconditional exclusion from courses and exams. The ATP delegate is elected for four years. The commission meets 3-4 times a year.

Commission of the Executive Board of the University
According to the decision of the Executive Board, the purpose of the ethics commission is "to support members of the university in exercising ethical responsibility in research and teaching", "to promote ethical awareness among the university public" and "to represent ethical issues to the non-university public". The ethics commission can assign teaching assignments. It meets once or twice a year.

The Gender Equality Commission (GEC) promotes gender equality in all relationships at the University of Zurich. The tasks include advising the Executive Board of the University as well as the Extended Executive Board of the University, developing strategic priorities for the effective implementation of gender equality at UZH and developing measures with the aim of achieving a balanced gender proportion in science. The GEC meets about four times a year.

The main tasks of the Commission include clarifying the needs of the faculties on topics of internationalization, exchanging information with the faculties, developing strategic focal points in teaching, research and mobility, as well as the necessary measures for their implementation, receiving and advising applications, and submitting applications to the Executive Board and the Extended Executive Board of the University.

The Commission Education and Studies was created on August 1, 2021 by merging the Teaching Commission and the Admissions Commission. It is chaired by the Vicepresident for Education and Student Affairs and usually meets four times a semester. The commission supports the Extended Executive Board of the University or the Executive Board of the University, proposes measures to them and advises them in connection with cross-faculty and strategic questions or projects concerning teaching and studies, admission to studies, quality assurance and promotion of innovation in the area of teaching and studies, as well as in connection with the corresponding allocation of funds.

The Commission exercises direct supervision of the canteens and cafeterias and deals with complaints from users and the canteen and cafeteria operator. It issues rules of use and, on the proposal of the ZFV companies, defines the offer concept. The regulations of the Mensa Commission are currently being revised. The Mensa Commission meets about three times a year.

The sustainability commission was formed in 2016. It supports the delegate for sustainability, Prof. Dr. Lorenz Hilty, in fulfilling his task, namely raising awareness and promoting the sustainable use of resources at the University of Zurich in teaching, research and operations.

The Commission is a consultative body for the Executive Board on personnel policy issues. The Personnel Commission meets three to four times a year.

The Commission is responsible for the strategic direction and further development of the offer of the University for Senior Citizens. Other tasks include approval of the program, annual fees and fees for special events, and approval of the accountability report for submission to the Executive Board.

The Academic Disability Commission accompanies the Disability Office (DO) in the implementation of equality for people with disabilities at the University of Zurich. The tasks are the development of a medium and long-term strategy for realizing equality for people with disabilities at UZH, the preparation of decision-making principles for the attention of the Executive Board, the acceptance of the semi-annual report of the DO and the resulting catalog of measures, the creation of strategic foundations for the work of the DO.

Consisting of representatives of all faculties and bodies of UZH, the Commission has the task of promoting dialogue across disciplines and with the broader public. For this, the Commission UZH Interdisciplinary plans and finances a topical lecture series with an interdisciplinary focus every semester. The commission convenes once per semester.

The Commission is responsible for planning the continuing education policy at the level of the university as a whole, approving the contributions to continuing education programs, commenting on new or currently revising continuing education courses and developing guidelines for quality assurance of the continuing education programs.

The VSAO Supervisory Board forms the link between the pension fund and the employees insured in the affiliation contract.
It determines the pension scheme for holders of qualification positions, assistant assistants, assistant and senior physicians. It monitors the execution of the affiliation contract between the pension fund and the employer. It obtains the necessary information from the pension fund.
The Executive Board of the University elects the two representatives of the employer. The Association of Junior Researchers at the University of Zurich (VAUZ) elects the two representatives of the insured employees.
