VAUZ Co-Presidium

  • Position: Co-Presidium of VAUZ (Association of Academic Mid-Level Faculty of the University of Zurich) - the function is performed jointly by 2 people.
  • Workload: 20 %
  • Compensation: CHF 13,000 per year (incl. SSC contributions) per person
  • Start of employment: immediately or by arrangement
  • Application deadline: Ongoing examination until 31 October 2026

Tasks and responsibilities

As Co-President, you will take over the strategic and representative management of the non-professorial academic staff / status of early career researchers at UZH:

  • Representation of interests: Representation of the non-tenured faculty vis-à-vis the Executive Board of the University, in faculties, institutes and their committees and commissions.
  • Management and coordination: Leadership of the VAUZ board, chairing meetings and close cooperation with the office.
  • Higher education policy: Development of positions on science policy topics and networking with internal and external partners.

Who is looked for

  • Members of the Representative Body of Junior Researchers (doctoral students, postdocs, auxiliary assistants, assistants or senior assistants).
  • Requirements: Interest in university politics, strong creative drive, analytical skills, passionate for teamwork and strong German and English language skills.
  • Previous knowledge of university politics is not a prerequisite; openness and a sense of responsibility are in the foreground.
