In August 2025, we are organizing a 5-day ETH-EPFL summer school (2 ECTS) on Science and Policy to encourage early-career scientists to drive sustainable change. The summer school will take place from August 18–22, 2025, in Salgesch (Valais, Switzerland).

This summer school is for you if you are interested in the intersection of scientific progress and societal needs, and want to better understand, communicate, and organize sustainable policy solutions at local, national, and international levels. Over 5 days, you will get a chance to connect with a community of like-minded peers, enjoy the beauty of Valais, and find inspiration in the surrounding nature and
- Explore how scientific evidence influences public decision-making.
- Learn methods to evaluate scientific impact, with a focus on sustainability.
- Practice communicating complex scientific ideas to non-expert audiences.
- Discover career pathways for scientists to drive societal change.
- Build skills in policy writing, public speaking, and media engagement.
The summer school costs CHF 250, which includes accommodation and board for the full 5 days.
