Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
der Regierungsrat des Kantons Zürich hat am 7. Juni 2018 eine Änderung der Vollzugsverordnung zum Personalgesetz in die Vernehmlassung gegeben (Eingabefrist: 13. Juli 2018).
Der Regierungsrat will die wöchentliche Arbeitszeit von 42 auf 42,5 Stunden erhöhen, um so kostenneutral eine zusätzliche Ferienwoche für die Angestellten zwischen 21 und 59 Jahren erarbeiten zu lassen. Diejenigen unter uns, die unter 20 oder über 59 Jahre alt sind, gehen jedoch leer aus. Ausserdem sollen diesen Personen die zwei Freitage zum Jahreswechsel gestrichen werden.
Bereits heute kann das ATP im Rahmen der Regelung der Jahresarbeitszeit bis zu 15 Tage pro Jahr als Ferien einziehen - wenn wir mehr arbeiten (§124 der Vollzugsverordnung zum Personalgesetz des Kantons Zürich).

Die ATP-Delegierten in der Personalkommission der UZH und der VIP-Vorstand sind der Meinung, dass der Regierungsrat unbedingt von dieser Massnahme Abstand nehmen soll. Sie ist kein Gewinn und bedeutet im Gegenteil einen Imageschaden für die UZH und den Kanton.
Das ATP der UZH ist nicht zur Vernehmlassung eingeladen. Deshalb möchten wir Ihnen die Gelegenheit geben, sich mit einer Unterschrift gegen den Vorschlag des Regierungsrates zu äussern.

The University of Geneva in its role as Swiss Leading House for Science and Technology Cooperation for Russia and the “CIS region” is pleased to announce the launch of a Call for Seed Funding Grants with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (abbreviated for simplicity as “CIS Region”).
This Call is designed to provide seed funding for projects between academic stakeholders in Switzerland and the partner countries, covering all scientific disciplines.
The application deadline is on 14 July, 2018.

Der VSUZH ist von diesem Entscheid schwer enttäuscht. Die Universitätsleitung hat mit ihrem Entscheid gezeigt, dass sie nicht gewillt ist, die studentische Selbstorganisation, das Campusgefühl und die Attraktivität der UZH zu fördern.
Der VSUZH hat sich dazu Entschieden, der Universitätsleitung ein Wiedererwägungsgesuch zu stellen. Dies wird den ehemaligen Studierendenladen Zentrum betreffen, und wird erst Ende August möglich sein, wenn die UL wieder tagt.

This year’s Swiss Physiology Meeting by the LS2 Section Physiology will take place at University of Fribourg, Campus Pérolles, on 4 September 2018!
The meeting will again unite around 60-70 Swiss Physiology and Pathophysiology researchers from different Swiss research institutions to exchange scientific ideas, network, and to award the Young Investigator Award of the “Stiftung für Physiologie" to the most promising scientific offspring. Keynote speaker of this event will be Beat Imhof (University of Geneva), giving a plenary lecture with the title: “Novel mechanisms in leukocyte migration”.

A big highlight of the meeting will be the awarding of the Young Investigator Awards by the "Stiftung für Physiologie" (former Oetliker Foundation) for young researchers in Physiology. For the first time, six awards will be given, 3 for PhDs and 3 for junior Postdocs (< 5yrs after PhD or MD), for:

This seed money call aims at developing new or consolidating existing partnerships with institutions in countries where research partnerships are so far underexplored. As there is no notable research collaboration between the Swiss scientific community and its counterparts in the designated countries other than India, seed money grants will be utilised to stimulate partnerships in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The goal of this seed money call is to develop links between Swiss researchers and scientists and institutions in the eight countries mentioned above. Seed money should be utilized to develop a long-term partnership between two institutions. Such research partnerships should be based on mutual interest and benefits.

ETH Zurich as the Leading House for the Bilateral Science and Technology Cooperation Programme with Asia is launching a call for Internship Scholarships in China.
The goal of the scholarships is to enable internships of students from Swiss higher education institutions (Federal Institutes of Technology, Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities of Teacher Education) in China, and make it possible for the students to gain first hand work experience in this important and dynamic economy.
The scholarships will support internships of one to six months with a monthly allowance of CHF 1500 and also cover a return flight to China. The call will remain permanently open from 4 June 2018 to 31 July 2020. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling base.
