Die Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule IBH wurde im Jahr 2000 gegründet. Sie ist heute der grösste hochschulartenübergreifende Verbund Europas und ein europaweit beachtetes Kooperationsmodell der Internationalen Bodenseekonferenz (IBK). Die IBH ist ein Netzwerk von 30 Mitgliedshochschulen aus Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Liechtenstein, das kontinuierlich weiter entwickelt und vertieft wird. Sie vernetzt Forschende und Mitarbeitende länder- und hochschulartenübergreifend und leistet gemeinsam mit Praxispartnern einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu relevanten Themen in der Bodenseeregion.
Mit Hilfe einer gezielten Projektförderung sollen sowohl die Forschenden in den Mitgliedshochschulen länder- und hochschulartenübergreifend miteinander vernetzt werden als auch der Wissens- und Bildungsraum Bodensee gestärkt werden.
Die Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule IBH schreibt für 2018 Projekte in folgenden Kategorien aus:

III Step: After receiving the participation fee, participant will receive the unconditional letter via email and if there is required visa application process IPD will send invitation letter by post and also to the relevant embassy by email or fax.
NOTE: We strongly advice to the participants to submit the filled application as soon as it`s possible, who needs visa to enter Switzerland and who needs more financial documentation in the work place for his/her participation.

WORKSHOP "HOW TO APPLY FOR A PERMANENT ACADEMIC POSITION" for FEMALE POSTDOC RESEARCHERS (18 - 20 October 2017)
In this three-day workshop participants learn how to apply successfully for a post in research or higher education. The workshop includes, but is not limited to, professorships. It takes you through the main steps of the application process, from the decision to embark on an academic career right through to the final stages of negotiating your contract:
o How the job seeking process works
o How to locate and de-code job advertisements
o How to prepare an unsolicited application
o How to draft application letters
o How to develop a CV
o How to prepare for job interviews
o How to prepare and give a job talk
o How to make the most of campus visits
o How to respond to a job offer
o How to negotiate your contract
This is your chance to find out where to look for jobs that interest you, how to pitch your CV to match the job opening while remaining authentic, how to respond to the selection committee's standard questions as well as how to navigate campus visits and social events as part of the hiring process. Participants will work with their own application material (and their own laptop), practice giving a compelling job talk and engage in multiple role plays to experience the applicant perspective as well as the perspective of the Chair of the hiring committee.
TARGET GROUP
This workshop is open to women holding a PhD in any discipline, and who are active in teaching and/or research at UZH. Participants ideally already have some experience with applying for permanent academic positions in Switzerland or internationally, for instance (assistant) professorships, lectureships, readerships, etc. The workshop language is English.

Dieser Kurs setzt einen Schwerpunkt auf konkrete Machtspiele und Taktiken, die im institutionellen Umfeld täglich eingesetzt werden und vermittelt den konkreten Umgang damit.

Der zweitägige Workshop richtet sich an Postdoktorandinnen aller Fakultäten und Disziplinen. Bewerbungsvoraussetzung ist, dass Sie bereits promovierte Nachwuchswissenschaftlerin an der UZH sind und als solche an einer Weiterqualifikation mit dem Ziel Professur arbeiten. Sie sollten an beiden Kurstagen jeweils ganztags anwesend sein können und Bereitschaft zur aktiven Mitarbeit mitbringen. Der Workshop findet in deutscher Sprache statt.

I would like to draw your attention to the fifth International Summer School on Technology Transfer in Life Sciences in Dresden, which will take place from 28 August to 1 September 2017. In this five day training program, participants will learn about technology transfer, patenting, licensing, and spin-off foundation from experts in these fields.

In diesem Jahr findet die European Conference for African Studies (ECAS) in Basel statt. Seit Jahren besteht die Schwierigkeit, finanzielle Mittel für 'Nicht-Schweizer-Forschende mit Behinderungen' zu bekommen, die an akademischen Veranstaltungen in der Schweiz teilnehmen möchten. Hierbei handelt es sich um Dienste für gehörlose Personen, oder zum Beispiel um Transport für Menschen, die auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen sind. Die ECAS OrganisatorInnen haben sich diesem Thema gestellt und eine Crowdfunding Aktion gestartet, um zwei Forscher/innen mit Behinderung unterstützen zu können. Unten der Aufruf (kurzes Video) vom Center for African Studies Basel, eine der Hauptorganisatoren der Konferenz.
